Course Objective

With this course, it is aimed that students gain counseling skills and comprehend the role and functions of counseling skills in the counseling process.

Rules

Expectations: Students are expected to come prepared for the lesson by reading the article/book chapters of the day, to follow the lesson regularly, to perform and report the weekly practices regularly, to participate actively, and to focus their attention on the course of the lesson.
Special Situations: If there are any students who have difficulties in following the course and fulfilling the requirements of the course due to any inadequacy among the students taking this course, they should contact the course instructor as soon as possible.
Academic Integrity Policy: Academic honesty; It includes elements such as cheating, using or buying ready-made assignments or written materials, academic plagiarism (using someone else's thought, opinion, invention or work in an assignment, project, report and similar studies by presenting it as one's own without citing the source). When such situations are detected, they may cause the student to be deemed unsuccessful and to be expelled from the university at a further level.
Attendance: Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Undergraduate Education and Teaching Regulations
Article 21 – (1) Students at the University; are required to attend 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of applied courses in one semester. Each instructor checks the obligation to attend classes according to these principles.

Course Learning Outcomes

  2. • Evaluating and conceptualizing client problems,
  3. • Creating a purpose in psychological counseling,
  4. • Using advanced psychological counseling skills,
  5. • Knowledge and skills required for strategy determination and intervention selection, termination and monitoring, and knowledge of practices related to the issues addressed.
