Course Objective

Definition of mental health and related concepts; mental health according to psychology schools, factors affecting mental health at school, mental health at school and humanitarian education; mental health at school according to developmental stages; cognitive and affective learning and mental health relationship.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Defines mental health; describe the characteristics of individuals with mental health status; Lists the normal and abnormal behavior criteria.
  2. Defines the factors affecting mental health depending on the characteristics in the field of personality development and can explain the difference from adult mental health.
  3. Knows how to work with the reflections of the elements that threaten mental health in the family to the educational environment at school.
  4. Knows how mental health counseling is handled from the perspective of school administrators and field teachers and can provide consultation services.
  5. Knows the effects of explicit and implicit programs on students' mental health and can make necessary precautions and applications.
  6. Evaluate the effects of internal-external migration, disadvantaged students and problems stemming from cultural differences on mental health at school, and make necessary guidance and interventions.
  7. Explain the effect of personality differences on learning factors in students according to personal and educational guidance elements.
  8. Discusses suggestions for parents and teachers about prevention and correction of various emotional and behavioral problems in children.
  9. Can connect Positive Mental Health and Mental Wellbeing models with positive psychology practices.
  10. Recognize the basic counseling approaches used in the intervention of mental health problems in children and adolescents.
