Course Objective
To know the importance, necessity, functions and types of museums and to realize museum-education projects.
Course Content
History, types, aims, necessity of museums, museum and education, museum visit for educational purposes, preparation and application of museum guide for elementary / secondary school students, preparation for museum visit, plans and rules, definition of museum, exhibition, historical, aesthetic and critical examination, application studies made using the museum's artifacts and remains.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Prepare student guide for museum visits.
- Encourages the development of creativity through art education in the museum.
- Plans various application works by using the artifacts and ruins in the museum.
- It shows determination to arouse interest, value and protect the art works through art education in the museum.
- Evaluate the similarities and differences between works of art from different cultures.
- Follows publications about museum and art education.
- Projects for museum education for primary and secondary art classes
- Explains the national character, cultural thought and structure of the cultural works in his homeland together with the universal works.
- In the museum education, he explains the historical and aesthetic values from the works in the vicinity.
- Relate museum education practices with disciplines such as art criticism, aesthetics and art history.
- Evaluate the relations of the museum with art, society and education.
- Explains the history, types, aims and functions of museums.
