Course Objective

Teaching the students the essentials of Spanish, one of the most widely spoken languages of the world.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate understanding of basic spoken Spanish, including simple statements, questions and conversations on familiar topics. Speak Spanish in basic sentences and respond to questions using acceptable pronunciation. Demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend dialogues and readings, especially by using general contexts and cognates to infer meaning of new vocabulary in selected passages. Write sentences, phrases, paragraphs and short compositions that show the appropriate use of basic Spanish grammatical structures. Identify basic cultural elements and the diversity of Spanish speaking communities.
