1. What does the preparatory program consist of?
- A preparatory year consists of four (4) levels in total. Each student starts at the level determined by the Placement Test and continues their education until they complete the B2 level.
- Each level consists of 8 weeks of instruction and a 3-day examination schedule in the 9th week.
- The modular system is a system consisting of consecutive levels in which progress is observed as students succeed, reinforced through examinations. In the event of failure, progress is not possible and the student repeats the level or programme in which they were unsuccessful.
- This system has been designed on the basis of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The levels covered in Turkish Preparatory are as follows:
LEVEL | WEEKS | CLASS HOURS |
| A1: Beginner (Elementary) | 8 | 200 |
| A2: Pre-intermediate (Pre-intermediate) | 8 | 200 |
| B1: Intermediate (Intermadiate) | 8 | 200 |
B2: Upper Intermediate (Upper Intermediate)
| 8 | 200 |
Four levels | 32 | 800 hours |
- For students with irregular status who successfully complete the B2 module during the semester but are unable to start classes in the diploma program in which they are enrolled, a C1 class may be opened provided that the student submits a petition.
- The weekly timetables of the modules are determined and announced at the beginning of the academic year through the joint work of the Coordinator of Foreign Languages and the Preparatory Program Unit Coordinators.
