Health Management

Graduates of the Department of Health Management, which, unlike the administrative sciences, offers comprehensive educational programmes specific to the field of health on the organization and management of services covering many areas of specialization such as health insurance, health economics, health law, quality in health services, marketing in health services, strategic management in health, communication in health and human resources management in health services, are awarded the title of “Health Manager” in accordance with the decision of the YÖK Executive Board dated 26.08.1998. In this context, the aim is to train health managers who are knowledgeable about our country's health system and policies, have internalized medical deontology, can speak the same language as health workers, think strategically, have vision and have problem-solving skills. Its graduates also play an active role in determining and implementing our country's health policies.

Opportunities Offered to Students:

  • Opportunity to learn foreign languages (free of charge),

  • Opportunity to do a minor (with a scholarship for the normal duration of the major programme),

  • Opportunity to do a double major (with a scholarship for the normal duration of the double major programme),

  • Opportunity to study abroad through international exchange programmes (1 or 2 semesters),

  • Opportunity to continue with master's programmes after graduation.

 

Career Opportunities:

In addition to being employed as professional managers in public and private sector health institutions, graduates can be appointed to positions such as inspector, tax auditor and comptroller, and can find employment in various fields such as the pharmaceutical industry, social security institutions and insurance (particularly health insurance). In addition, students who successfully complete the programme also have the chance to pursue master's and doctoral degrees in health management, business administration and management, and in other disciplines that accept students from this department.
