Computer Engineering
The Turkish Language Teaching Programme was established within the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Faculty of Education in 2013.
Our department offers a 4-year programme consisting of 8 semesters at undergraduate level. In line with the Turkish Language Curriculum, our department includes;
a) Subject courses such as Turkish Language, Turkish Literature and Turkish Culture,
b) Professional teaching courses dealing with the educational sciences,
c) Complementary elective culture courses taken from other departments of the university,
d) Foreign language courses
and other theoretical and applied courses.
Students in our department can do a double major in departments approved by our faculty's double major and minor commission.
Students graduating from our department, whose academic staff includes 2 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, 1 lecturer and 2 research assistants, can work with the title of “Turkish Teacher” in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 of public and private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, as well as in private tutoring and study centres. They can also work in press and publishing organizations, educational and cultural institutions in Turkey and abroad, archives and museums, Turkology centres, and private and public organizations related to the Turkic Republics; in addition, they can teach Turkish to people of Turkic origin and foreigners at relevant centres and institutions in Turkey and abroad. If they choose to continue with graduate programmes such as master's and doctoral studies, our graduates can work as academics in the relevant departments of universities.
Graduating with a researcher-educator profile, our students serve our country, our society and our people by educating individuals who can communicate effectively, take social responsibility, have internalized national values, respect universal values and have civic awareness.
