Primary School Teaching

The Primary School Teaching Programme is an undergraduate programme within the Department of Basic Education of the Faculty of Education.

The aim of the Primary School Teaching Programme is to train contemporary, constructive, creative and productive primary school teacher candidates who embrace democracy, are equipped with technology and believe in the guidance of science.

The Primary School Teaching Programme is an interdisciplinary field of study based on the natural and social sciences. The programme includes compulsory subject knowledge, professional teaching knowledge, general culture and practice courses. Students also take elective courses. Courses are delivered in theoretical and practical forms. Theoretical courses in the programme are taught in technology-supported environments. Practice courses are carried out over two semesters under the supervision of a Practice Teaching Staff Member and a Practice Teacher, in cooperation with the Faculty of Education, the Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Practice Primary Schools.

Opportunities Offered to Students:

  • Opportunity to learn foreign languages (free of charge),
  • Opportunity to do a minor (with a scholarship for the normal duration of the major programme),
  • Opportunity to do a double major (with a scholarship for the normal duration of the double major programme),
  • Opportunity to study abroad through international exchange programmes (1 or 2 semesters),
  • Opportunity to continue with master's programmes after graduation.
