Establishment and Operation
a) Chair: The Commission is chaired by the Rector of IZU, and in the Rector's absence by the Quality Management Systems Representative.
b) The members of the Commission are the Quality Management Systems Representative, the Vice Rector, the Secretary General, the Faculty Deans, the Institute Directors, the Head of the Department of Strategy Development, the Projects Coordinator, the Quality Management Systems Coordinator and the Student Representative of the Quality Commission.
c) The members and the working procedures and principles of the Commission are shared with the public at www.izu.edu.tr upon the approval of the Senate.
d) The student representative is determined in accordance with the principles and procedures to be set by university senates, and serves a term of one year.
Duties
a) To establish the institution's internal and external quality assurance system for evaluating and improving the quality of education, research activities and administrative services in line with the institution's strategic plan and objectives, to identify institutional indicators, to carry out the work to be undertaken in this scope in accordance with the procedures and principles set by the Higher Education Quality Council, and to submit this work for the approval of the Senate,
b) To carry out internal evaluation work, to prepare the annual institutional evaluation report containing the results of institutional evaluation and quality improvement activities and to submit it to the senate, or to the executive board at institutions without a senate, and to share the approved annual institutional evaluation report with the public in a manner accessible from the institution's website homepage,
c) To make the necessary preparations during the external evaluation process and to provide every kind of support to the Higher Education Quality Council and to external evaluation bodies,
d) Office and personnel support services for the Commission are provided by the department of strategy development or the relevant unit of the higher education institution concerned.
e) The Commission may convene at the request of one of its members or upon the instruction of the Rector.
