Core Duties
Some of the projects being developed by our Department of Construction and Technical Affairs are as follows:
- Campus project works,
- Restoration project works, as our University has a historic building,
- Maintenance and improvement works so that education can take place in a more comfortable and healthy environment,
- Designing projects for buildings and facilities, preparing tender files, conducting tenders, supervising construction and taking delivery of completed works, and carrying out maintenance and repair work,
- Preparing feasibility reports for all works requiring technical examination and project design,
Carrying out feasibility, project, tender and construction work, including the procedures for buildings and spaces needed by the University such as reading rooms, classrooms, lecture halls, amphitheatres, conference halls, inpatient health centres, student canteens and restaurants, meeting, cinema and theatre halls, indoor and outdoor sports halls and fields, and camping sites, - Carrying out work to ensure the uninterrupted supply of the campus's water, sewerage, electricity and communication needs,
- Ensuring the operation of central heating, boiler rooms, cold rooms, generators, ventilation systems, the telephone exchange and elevators, and carrying out or commissioning their maintenance and repair,
- It can be summarized as preparing our University's investment programme and the construction investment budget for the education, health and sports sectors under this programme.
- Preparing monthly and annual activity reports on the unit and submitting them to senior management,
- Establishing, running and developing an effective record, file and archive system within the unit.
