Project Duration: 120 Months
Total Project Budget : 1.635.580.- Euro
Executing/Partner Institution: EU/Other
Project Start Date : Jun 6, 2015, 00:00
In this project, alongside the AGATA and LYCAA detectors to be used together with HISPEC (High Spin Spectroscopy), the design and manufacture of the NEDA (NEutron Detector Array) detector array will be carried out in order to detect neutrons with energies between 1 MeV and 20 MeV with high efficiency. The array will consist of 331 hexagonal prisms of approximately 3 litres each, filled with B501A liquid crystal, which makes neutron-gamma discrimination possible. It will cover a solid angle of 2π at a distance of 1 m from the target. It will feature advanced digital front-end electronics and will at the same time be fully compatible with the AGATA electronics and data acquisition system.
