500,000 square metres of İZÜ’s total 630-decare campus consists of green areas. On the İZÜ Campus, with approximately 10,000 trees including centuries-old olive and plane trees, students enjoy both learning and socializing. With its walking paths, picnic areas and cycling tracks, the İZÜ Campus promises a learning life intertwined with nature. The foundation spirit is the most important part of İZÜ culture. Seasonal fruits picked from the orchards on the İZÜ Campus are offered to students in baskets along the walking path. It has been in the top 500 of the UI GreenMetric list, which evaluates universities in terms of sustainability such as infrastructure, energy, climate, water and transportation, since 2019.
LIFE AT İZÜ IS SOMETHING ELSE!
Dormitory Comfort That Feels Like Home
Located within the lush green İZÜ Campus, the female and male student dormitories allow students to live safely and comfortably without wasting time on the road or dealing with Istanbul traffic. Many activities are also organized in the dormitories for students' personal and social development. The apartment-style dormitories have cinema halls, cafeterias, fitness rooms, handicraft workshops and computer laboratories. Our current dormitories have a capacity of 600 students. In addition to our partner dormitories, construction of a new student dormitory with a capacity of 1,000 students is planned to begin.
Clean and Spacious Dining Hall
With the support of the İlim Yayma Foundation, İZÜ’s large and spacious dining hall offers delicious, high-quality meals at very affordable prices. The free iftars frequently held during Ramadan are another privilege of İZÜ.
There Is Always Room for You in the Cafés!
At İZÜ there are a total of 8 different cafés, on the ground floor of every academic building and in the garden. İZÜ students don't know what it means to rush for a seat😊 On top of that, you can grab your coffee and meet friends on the benches and in the gazebos. There is always room on campus, even during finals!
İZÜ Mosque
The Hafız İhsan and Hacı Şükran Özokur Mosque on the İZÜ Campus is another place that inspires admiration with its architecture. Apart from the İZÜ Mosque, every faculty also has prayer rooms for female and male students.
Horizontal Architecture, a Lush Green Campus
Based on the idea that higher education does not consist only of classes, academic work and laboratories, İZÜ also offers social facilities at the highest level. The university's social, sports and cultural areas and its horizontal architecture, which gives ample space to nature, invite students to an unforgettable campus life. The 2-3-storey academic buildings are complemented by the large library and mosque at the heart of the campus.
Safe Campus
All measures for the safety of students on campus are taken very seriously. The fact that all facilities are located on campus, in a safe, spacious and spotlessly clean green area, reassures not only students but also parents.
Leave Your Computer at Home!
At İZÜ, students can access computers at different points on campus whenever they want. Numerous computers in common areas are open to students at any time.
Barrier-Free University
For barrier-free living, the paths, elevators and even lecterns on campus are equipped with suitable technological facilities. At İZÜ, people with disabilities can easily access the educational buildings built with horizontal architecture, classrooms, conference halls and all social areas. The İZÜ Campus is perhaps the campus where people with disabilities can feel most comfortable.
Advantageous Transportation
The university's location is also a great advantage. Its proximity to Istanbul's main transportation routes, such as the E5, TEM, Istanbul Airport, Marmaray and Metrobus, allows students to integrate with Istanbul.
