IZU Halkalı Campus

As you are aware, paragraph 5 of Article 26 of the Regulation on the Law on Mediation in Civil Disputes (the Regulation) provides that:

"mediators shall be given refresher training by institutions licensed to provide mediation training at least once a year, both theoretical and practical, and totaling no less than eight hours. Mediators are required to attend these eight hours of training provided each year."

Pursuant to this provision, the first mediators entered in the registry must take the refresher training in question this year and submit the documents evidencing their attendance to the Department of Mediation. This refresher training will be delivered under the program below by expert mediators who have resolved many disputes through mediation in practice and who have developed themselves in this field by taking part in international programs.

  • Two hours of general theoretical basic legal knowledge training covering the fields suitable for mediation, the points to be observed when mediation is applied for during litigation, the procedures to be carried out at the end of mediation negotiations, and the drafting and legal nature of any settlement reached,
  • Two hours on meeting management, anger management and the mediation process,
  • One hour on the ethical rules to be observed in mediation and the fee schedule,
  • Three hours covering dispute resolution exercises based on previous disputes resolved through mediation, together with practice supervision activities, enabling mediators to develop their skills in using systematic techniques in groups.

A Certificate of Attendance will be presented to participants who complete the training.

  • Photocopy of national ID card (front side)

  • Discounts are available, subject to quota, for IZU staff, alumni and students.
  • No FEE refunds are possible once the groups have been approved by the Department of Mediation.
  • Should the competent government authorities declare curfews or similar measures due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the announced programme schedules may be subject to change.
  • IZUSEM reserves the right to make any changes it deems necessary during the announcement and implementation stages of its programmes.
  • As the quota for the programme in question is limited, no refund will be made to participants who have been granted final registration by IZUSEM and have paid the programme fee, regardless of whether they attend the programme, except for those who submit a written application to IZUSEM stating that they will be unable to attend at least 2 weeks before the programme's start date (and before the programme has been approved by the relevant department).
  • Weekday and weekend training groups will be determined according to the number of participants during the final registration period.
