Course Objective

The main aim of this course is to raise individuals who are sensitive to social problems and know how to use their entrepreneurial characteristics, skills and tools to solve social problems. In this context; Today, it is only possible to produce innovative solutions to increasing social problems with social entrepreneurship activities. Beyond being a volunteering and civil initiative movement, social entrepreneurship is an issue that should be put on the agenda of all organizations other than non-profit organizations. It is not correct to expect the solution of social problems only from the state or the private private sector. At this point, everyone should take the responsibility and make the necessary effort to make the services provided for social problems more effective, creative and more inclusive. It will be underlined that social entrepreneurship is not only the duty of non-profit organizations today, but that all segments and organizations of the society should be in solidarity at the point of solving the emerging problems, and it will be tried to raise awareness of social entrepreneurship in students.

Course Content

The concepts of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship will be included, and the importance of social entrepreneurship for a more livable world will be emphasized. Issues such as volunteerism and active citizenship will also be discussed. Examples of prominent social entrepreneurship activities from the world and Turkey will be given.
