MATHEMATICS EDUCATION - NON THESIS

About the Program

-It consists of ten thirty-hour courses and graduates project work. (Total 90 ECTS) The standard duration of completing this program is two semesters, and the maximum term is three semesters.

Objectives

  1. To examine interdisciplinary studies on mathematics education
  2. To provide cooperative learning with group Works
  3. To examine the problems in the field of mathematics education and to produce solutions
  4. To use the knowledge of mathematics in daily life
  5. To have patience, determination, diligence, carefulness, self-confidence, self-regulation skills and to develop these features in learning and teaching mathematics
  6. To follow the literature specific to the mathematics education field
  7. To be able to explain and communicate their thoughts in a logical way using the language of mathematics
  8. To develop strategies, policies and to implement plans on mathematics education and to evaluate the results within the framework of quality processes

Degree and Level Awarded

Graduate Diploma in Mathematics Education without Thesis is awarded.

Admission Requirements

- To be a graduate from the Department of Mathematics, Mathematics Education undergraduate programs,

- ALES score requirement is not required.

- The courses of this program are given at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Halkalı campus.

Graduation Requirements

Ten lessons and thirty hours of master's project work must be completed. (Total 90 ECTS) The normal duration of completing this program is 2 semesters and the maximum duration is 3 semesters.

Recognition of Prior Learning

If the courses taken at postgraduate level are equivalent, exemption can be given according to the decision of the Exemption Commission.

Employment Opportunities

As a non-thesis graduate in Mathematics Education, they can work as teachers in state and private education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.

Access to Further Studies

If the necessary conditions are met, they can continue their graduate education.
