About the Program
The students have to complete the following: 7 courses, seminar course (learning basics of writing thesis according to the institute's guide and APA 7 rules), Doctoral Qualifying Exam, thesis proposal, and thesis.
To graduate from this program, students have to take and successfully pass courses whose total ECTS credits [European Credit Transfer System, AKTS] will be equal to a total of 240 ECTS credits.
The Student's GPA (grade point average) has to be no less than 3.00.
Students are also expected to conduct academic research. Thus, they either have to publish 2 conference papers or have to publish an article in the area of psychology to graduate.
Program Objectives & Goals
Objectives
- The theoretical goal is to have the necessary basic and advanced knowledge to conduct research, statistical analysis and to apprehend field related literature.
- To have theoretical and practical competencies with the sources containing the latest information in the literature.
- The students who receive support from the current literature will be able to interpret and define their new learning from a scientific point of view in a methodical manner and improve their capacity to contribute. Gaining the ability to take responsibility in the environment in which he / she works in his / her field.
- To have the cognitive skillset to analyze and evaluate the current issues and arguements in the psychology field with the help of courses about advanced research methods, statistics and psychology
- One of the goals is to help students become competent to conduct a standard literature review, find a unique research subject, conduct research, and write a research paper.
- To gain the ability to share sufficient and effective theory and practices with the necessary authorities when consulted with the relevant authorities.
- To gain the ability to be sensitive in social issues and to develop projects that will produce solutions to problems related to the field.
- To gain language proficiency that can follow the developments in the field and contribute it at the level of the European Union standards.
- To gain the skills of using computer and information technologies (IBM SPSS, LISREL, MICROSOFT WORD, LISREL, HAYES'S PROCESS MACRO etc.) within the framework of European Union standards.
- To gain the ability to internalize social, scientific and cultural values within the scope of ethical principles and to apply them in business and social life.
