Course Objective
Explain the understanding and development of Fair Play in ancient and modern times, formal and informal Fair Play behaviors, individual and social factors that make it difficult to act in accordance with Fair Play, the relationship between school physical education and Fair Play, the appearance of Fair Play in Türkiye, and development perspectives.
Course Content
The historical development of fair play, the scope and principles of fair play, the problems it faces, efforts and perspectives to develop fair play, fair play education and practices in school physical education, the understanding of fair play in amateur and professional sports, the reasons why athletes act or fail to act in accordance with fair play, and studies on fair play in Türkiye.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Explains the formation and development processes of the concept of Fair Play, its problems and its role and importance in school physical education.
- Explains the historical development of the concept of Fair Play.
- Comments on the appearance of Fair Play in today's sports practices.
- Gives examples of methods for developing the understanding of fair play in physical education classes.
