Course Objective
Understand the importance of traditional Turkish sports and their place in culture
Course Content
Terms and concepts related to traditional Turkish sports; their importance; and their contributions to the individual, society, and the national economy; the historical development of traditional Turkish sports (Huns, Gokturks, Uyghurs, Seljuks, Beyliks, and Ottoman periods); the Ahilik and Guild Organization; institutions and organizations related to Turkish arts during the Republican period; the classification, training, production, and marketing of traditional arts according to raw materials and production techniques.
