Course Objective

The aim of lesson; To provide students with the skills of playing the game of chess and teaching it at a basic level.

Course Content

Course content; fundamentals of chess and history of chess, starting position of the pieces on the board, movements of the pieces, moving the pieces, chess clock, illegal positions, game end, fast finish (guillotine), scoring, king-rook mate, king-queen mate, two bishop mate, knight. It covers the subjects of bishop mate, pawn game and basic principles of pawn game endings, seven evaluation principles in chess, strategy and tactics in chess, delayed (open) games, speed chess, blitz, openings in chess and teaching methods of chess.
