Course Objective

Having basic theoretical knowledge about skiing and being able to apply basic sliding techniques (Selection of appropriate materials to be used, snow plow, flat sliding, turns and slalom slides and gate recognition and gate transitions)

Course Content

To have basic theoretical knowledge about skiing and to be able to apply basic skiing techniques. To develop the skills of teaching and applying technical skills such as the appropriate equipment to be used (choosing gloves, goggles, coat, trousers and skis) and basic skiing techniques (snow plow, straight skiing, turns and slalom slides and gate recognition and gate transitions).

  1. Defines concepts related to the ski branch.
  2. Summarizes the historical development of the ski branch.
  3. Explains and applies the competition rules of the ski branch.
  4. Uses materials and equipment belonging to the ski branch.
  5. Applies basic techniques specific to the ski branch.
