Course Objective
The aim of this course, physical education and sports teacher students' life or health endangered accident, illness, etc. In case of emergency, it is to ensure that the healthcare team learns the non-medicated practices at the scene in order to save life or prevent the situation from getting worse, until help is provided.
Course Content
The main content of the course is the first aid to be applied to the respiratory, circulatory systems and all organ injuries when the life of the individual is in danger, and accordingly, transporting the patient, who is secured with all interventions, to the competent health unit. In addition, to know harmful habits for children and young people, common sports injuries in children and young people and ways of protection, first aid, definition, purpose, decision making in emergency situations, dressing and bandaging, transportation, respiratory and cardiac arrest, injuries and bleeding, heat injuries, burns, poisoning, occlusion and drowning, fractures and other musculoskeletal injuries, circulatory system problems, spinal traumas, foreign body stings and animal bites, and being able to apply necessary first aid.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Defines the concepts related to basic health information.
- Evaluates the characteristics of the crime scene-patient/injured-first aider.
- She/He/It can carry the patient / injured according to her technique
- He/she can make the necessary intervention by distinguishing the difference between the events that require first aid intervention.
- It is used in bleeding, accidents, burns, drowning, poisoning, animal bites, fractures and dislocations, muscle and joint injuries, etc. knows and can apply first aid.
- Knows the importance of creating a first aid room in schools and sports facilities and the materials that should be in it.
- Recognizes infectious diseases and learns the ways of prevention.
