Coordinator: Doç. Dr. Zülfünaz ÖZER

Course Objective

The aim of this course is to gain knowledge and skills about homeostasis, physiological and pathological processes in cells, organs and systems, the basic causes, mechanisms, symptoms, findings and basic treatment approaches that may occur in systems in case of illness.

Course Content

This course includes the physiopathological changes in cell, organ and system levels; cell and tissue physiology, gene and genetic diseases, fluid electrolyte, acid base imbalance, cell injury, inflammation, immunity, infection, immunodeficiency, stress and diseases, oncogenesis, neurological, endocrine, hematological, cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, digestive, muscle Mechanisms of disease and skin system diseases, diagnosis and treatment principles.

Explanations

Evaluation of the course:

Achievement: 30% Midterm + 20% Homework + 50% Final exam = 100%

The mid-term and final exams of the course will consist of open-ended questions.

In the course work, each student will prepare and share a topic and a relevant case statement. The paper will deliver the report as a 13-week report in the case of the word file.

Assignment of subject content and case analysis based on scientific and current knowledge will be evaluated with reference to resource use and demonstration.

Students must attend 70% of the course. Each student has to follow the course to continue. The student who cannot fulfill the condition of attendance can not take the Final and make-up exam.
