Graduate Education Institute · Political Science and International Relations (English) · Master
Course Objective
The course is centered on theoretical debates in contemporary International Relations theory. It will demonstrate how theory provides a road map and asserts explanatory power in the study and practice of international politics.
Course Content
The module organizes its survey around three perspectives: those theories seeing the inter-state dimension as central (classical realism, neo-realism, neo-liberal institutionalism, the English school), those that focus on trans-national actors and processes (Marxism), and those concentrating on the inter-human dimension (critical theory, feminism).
