Course Objective
The aim of this course is to provide students with information on politics and process of global governance. The course explores the institutionalized world order and the architecture of global governance with theoretically informed and empirically well-founded insights into the evolution, the needs and dilemmas of global governance.
Course Content
This course examines the historical aspects of the development and evolution of International Organizations, their diversified roles and the effectiveness with which they perform their assigned functions. The course looks at the relevant international organizations of the post-World War II and the post-Cold War international system..

- Explain the historical antecedents and trends in the growth of international organizations.
- Identify the various types of international and transnational organizations and discuss the important characteristics of each
- Discuss the various theories and concepts used to study global governance
- Evaluate the past and present performance and future prospects of international organizations in global governance
