Course Objective
The aim of this course is to provide the analytical and practical knowledge in order the students to understand comparative politics around the world. In this course, we will address a variety of issues and topics that are substantial for the comparative politics and students will be able to discuss freely on them.
Course Content
Some of the subjects that will be covered in this course are: The state: origins and development, States and democracy, Democratic change and persistence, constitutions, political systems, nations and nationalism, political culture, religion and politics, the role of the state in economy and so on.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Distinguish how political systems function in democratic, authoritarian, and other hybrid regimes.
- Understanding major approaches in comparative politics
- Learning different methodologies in comparative politics
