Course Objective

The general aim of this course is; Basic concepts of science and research, functions of science, research types, basic features of social science research, research methods, steps of scientific research, data collection and analysis methods, research report writing and the use of research results.

Course Content

To know the basic concepts, principles and approaches related to research methods, to define the research problem, to search the literature, to write the purpose, importance, number and limitations; research models and types; universe and sample; types and features of qualitative and quantitative data collection tools; Choosing the most suitable data collection tool for the study and adapting it with assistance; data collection processes; analysis of data; analysis; tabular and graphical representation of data, discussion and interpretation; having knowledge and skills about writing results and suggestions; To be aware of the importance of ethical rules in research, the use of citation programs and computer programs appropriately.

  3. They learn how to compose their thesis with the datas obtained.
  4. Knows the basic concepts, principles and approaches related to research methods.
  5. Can describe the research problem
  6. Can scan the literature about the research problem and write down the purpose, importance, assumptions and limitations.
  7. Knows the research models and types
  8. Decide on the most appropriate research model for the problem under the guidance of a consultant.
  9. By explaining the population and the sample, he / she can select a sample under the guidance of the consultant.
  10. Knows qualitative and quantitative data collection tools.
  11. Can write results and suggestions for research.
  12. Discusses the importance of ethical rules in research
  13. Explain the important points in research reporting.
  14. Knows and uses citation programs.
