Course Objective

Through this course (taken in the second semester of the Master's Program), the participants will find out huge amount of information on the subjects known as Traditional Crafts (that are the most widely known, heard and seen branches) such as Hüsn-ü Hat (Arabic Calligraphy), Tezhib (fine ornamantation).

In addition to tabove much information and examples on other traditional Turkish Decorative Arts, Wood carwing, Metal works, (paper) Marbling, Book Binding.

On top all these the Historical development, application areas and materials and information about the previous artists and craftsmen.

In the 2nd Period, among the subjects known as Applied Traditional Arts:

Bö 21 Glass Art

Bö 22 Tombstones

Bö 26 Turkish Religious Music

B 27 Technical Drawing-Drawing Calligraphy (Request Depends on Time and Conditions).
