Course Objective

The aim of this derste student is to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in order to prevent diabetes, early detection and effective management of diagnosed diabetes.

Course Content

to gain knowledge and skills in management and education of the diabetic individual and to provide information about the national and international progress in diabetes nursing.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Planning and implementing initiatives to protect the individual, family and community from diabetes;
  2. To gain theoretical knowledge and application skills related to diabetes nursing;
  3. To take part in research, projects and activities in cooperation with health care team and other disciplines with social responsibility awareness on diabetes nursing;
  4. Reflect blood-based practices in patient care as a diabetic nurse;
  5. Evaluate an individual with diabetes and make and implement appropriate patient education plans;
  6. Having the ability to take an effective role in the care and management of the diabetic individual;
  7. To ensure that the health care needs of the diabetic individual are met in a holistic approach in the direction of the nursing process;
  8. In the meantime, to ensure that nursing practices are met in line with professional principles and standards;
