Course Objective

To be able to give basic biochemistry knowledge to Nutrition and Dietetic students. In this direction, to describe the basic nutrients and the definition and properties of the essential molecules in their content. In the same context, it is possible to show students that these nutrient molecules are important for their digestion and body.

Course Content

The main concepts of biochemistry are water, its properties and effects on feeding, physiological buffer systems, carbohydrate, protein, lipid, hormonal balance and DNA biochemistry.
