Course Objective

In this course, it is aimed that the students learn the psychological counseling skills at the beginning level theoretically and practically. At the end of the course, students learn therapeutic communication skills theoretically and make preliminary practices related to these skills.

Course Content

The definition, models, types, service areas, techniques of guidance and psychological counseling, and organizational and personnel issues in guidance. The lectures will be covered theoretically, as well as pre-practices on therapeutic communication skills. During the practices, first the lecturer will practice a skill himself, and a student will practice an imaginary client role. Then the students themselves will actively do these applications. Each student will be a counselor, act as a client and be an observer. After these studies, it will be ensured that each student receives feedback.
