Introduction to the Seminar Course: Purpose, Scope, and ExpectationsReview the information provided about the seminar course and the scientific research process. Identify at least three research topics of interest.
The Scientific Research Process and Selection of a Research TopicIdentify at least five scholarly articles related to your topics and briefly examine their titles, purposes, and main variables.
Identifying and Justifying the Research ProblemReview the literature and prepare a brief statement identifying a potential research problem and explaining why it is important.
Formulating the Research Purpose, Research Questions, and HypothesesBased on your research problem, formulate one research purpose and at least three research questions. If considering a quantitative study, also formulate potential hypotheses.
Literature Review and Accessing Scholarly SourcesIdentify at least 10 scholarly sources using Web of Science, Scopus, or Google Scholar. Classify them by publication year, topic, and research method.
Critical Evaluation of the Literature and Identification of the Research GapCompare at least five studies. Identify their similarities, differences, limitations, and suggestions for future research.
Developing the Conceptual and Theoretical FrameworkIdentify the key concepts and potential theoretical framework for your study. Develop a simple conceptual model showing relationships among the concepts.
Selecting the Research Method and Research DesignExamine possible quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods designs for your study. Prepare a brief rationale explaining your methodological choice.
Data Collection Instruments, Data Collection Procedures, and Ethical PrinciplesIdentify the data collection instruments you will use. If using a scale, examine its validity and reliability evidence; for qualitative research, review the interview or observation protocol.
Data Analysis and Presentation of Research FindingsIdentify data analysis techniques appropriate for your research questions and justify the analyses according to your quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods design.
Academic Writing, Citation, and ReferencingPrepare an APA 7 reference list containing at least 10 sources. Rewrite a selected section of the literature in accordance with academic writing principles.
Preparing a Seminar Presentation and Effective Scientific Presentation TechniquesPrepare draft slides for your seminar presentation. Clearly present the problem, purpose, literature, research gap, methodology, and expected contribution.
Student Seminar Presentations and Scholarly FeedbackFinalize your presentation and conduct a 10–15-minute rehearsal. Prepare brief responses to potential questions that may arise during the presentation.
