Course Objective
To know the approach of teacher education in Turkey and in the world during the historical process. To critically analyze the existing teacher education system in Turkey. In this context, develop new approaches and models to train highly qualified teachers.
Course Content
Basic concepts and principles of teacher education. The history of teacher education in Turkey and in the world. Selection of teacher candidates and training before service. Current approaches in teacher education. The standards of the teaching profession and accountability in education. Accreditation of teacher training institutions. Teacher's in-service training and professional development. Increasing the quality of teachers. The importance of teacher education in national and international educational reforms and policies. The effects of technology on teacher education. Associations, associations and associations related to the profession of the teacher. Problems with teacher education and the future of teacher education.

- Understanding the place and importance of teacher training in the development of the country
- To comprehend the similar and different aspects of teacher training approaches existing in Turkey and in the world.
- To produce new approaches and models regarding teacher training.
