Course Objective
The aim of the course is to teach the students the role of supply chain in the success of organizations.
The course introduces the concepts, problems and techniques used to effectively design, analyze and manage supply chains. Specific topics covered in this course include formulation and design of supply chain strategy, forecasting, inventory management, sales and operations planning, global network design and information systems for SCM.
Course Content
The course focuses on the basic concepts, issues, and techniques for efficient and effective Supply Chain Management.
Supply Chain Management (SCM) incorporates an integrated approach to managing the flow of materials, products, services and cash flows from the supplier to the customer and sometimes from the customer to the supplier. SCM requires coordination between external organizations and organizations (for example, suppliers and customers) as well as among various functional groups within an organization. This coordination is very difficult for many organizations.
