Course Objective
The origins and development of Islamic architectural traditions in Turkey and beyond, the relationship with the environment and past cultures, and the problems of origin.
Course Content
The birth of Islamic architecture, the problems of origin, Islamic architecture in Turkey, Central Asia, India, China, Africa, Europe and the relations between this region arts and Islamic art. Each semester will focus on certain geographies and periods.
