Course Objective
Critical reading of some problems related to Ottoman architectural history and / or identification of new problems and research topics.
Course Content
Each semester will cover a different period or an unresolved topic of Ottoman architecture. Topics such as Ottoman architecture in the 17th century, Ottoman architecture in the early period and classical period will be covered as well as the tradition of domed architecture in Ottoman architecture, the relationship between Ottoman and Byzantine architecture, the organization of architectural profession in Ottoman period or planning methods in Ottoman architecture.

- To have knowledge about the organization of architecture profession in Ottoman period and planning methods in Ottoman architecture
- To have knowledge about the discussions in national and international literature on Ottoman architecture
- Having knowledge about the domed structure tradition in Ottoman architecture, the relationship between Ottoman-Byzantine architecture
