Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide information about various interview settings, to detail the content of the clinical first interview, to have students practice first interviews and to write reports of these interviews. In addition, it is aimed to address the important concepts of different theoretical approaches in clinical interviews and to provide information about interviews with young people, couples and families.

Course Content

- Introducing different interview settings
- Giving theoretical information about clinical first interview
- Practicing the first interview
- Introducing important concepts of clinical interviewing in terms of different theories
- Suicide assessment
- Information about interviews with young people, children, couples and families

Explanations

The final exam grade is determined by:

40% midterm exam

60% final exam

Rules

70% attendance is mandatory. This percentage must be achieved to be eligible to take the final exam.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Knows what is general techniques of clinical interview and knows how to use them.
  2. Knows and applies the ethics and rules of clinical interview.
  3. Can manage to complete a first clinical interview.
