BES 306 - Nutition Problems and Epidemiology in Society

Turkey and nutrition-based solutions to public health problems affecting the world to develop proposals for using basic principles and methods of epidemiology research is to increase knowledge and skills. It is aimed to teach the determination and detection methods of nutritional problems and epidemiology of our students and various vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

The course content includes nutritional problems and their epidemiology in Turkey and worldwide, covering topics such as protein-energy malnutrition, obesity, diet-related chronic diseases, iron deficiency anemia, iodine deficiency disorders, dental caries, zinc deficiency, rickets, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, vitamin deficiencies, folic acid deficiency, nutrition in risk groups (e.g., workers, the elderly), nutrition in disaster situations, intervention programs, and the development of national food and nutrition plans and policies.
