Course Objective

To comprehend health tourism, health tourism institutions, medical and thermal treatment in terms of health tourism, medical and thermal therapy tourists, medical and thermal therapy tourists, medical and thermal therapy tourists and problems and solutions of tourists and businesses within the scope of health tourism.

To be able to analyze Turkey's advantages and disadvantages within the scope of health tourism.

To be able to create a vision in the field of Health Tourism as a Health Manager Candidate by having the knowledge to make comparisons about the countries that are at the forefront in terms of health tourism from the world countries.

Course Content

This course; Health Tourism, medical tourism, advanced age, disabled tourism and thermal tourism concepts, Health Tourism Market and the concept of reverse flow in medical tourism, tourism health, differences between tourist health and medical tourism concepts. Areas and countries where medical tourists are treated the most, reasons for development. The place of Asian countries in medical tourism, cross-border patient mobility in European countries and the concept of medical tourism. Medical tourism activities in the American continent.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. By commenting on thermal tourism, it explains Turkey's advantages and disadvantages in relation to the subject.
  2. Students will be able to explain the fundamental concepts, types, and historical development of health tourism.
  3. Students will be able to analyze health tourism practices in Turkey and the world and evaluate industry trends.
  4. Students will be able to understand the economic, social, and legal aspects of the health tourism industry and develop strategic planning.
