Course Objective
The aim of this course is to understand the legal and ethical dimensions of healthcare services, to comprehend the legal responsibilities and ethical dilemmas that healthcare professionals and institutions may face; and to equip students with the ability to make informed and correct decisions within the framework of patient rights, professional responsibilities, medical errors, health legislation, and ethical principles.
Course Content
The Health Law and Ethics course aims to comprehensively examine the legal and ethical dimensions of healthcare services. The course covers the concept and fundamental principles of health law; focusing on patient rights, patient safety, professional responsibility, and medical errors. Furthermore, health legislation and practices, ethical principles in medical research, and ethical dilemmas encountered in clinical practice are examined in detail. The course aims to enable healthcare professionals to understand their legal and ethical responsibilities, grasp the principles of privacy and confidentiality in healthcare, and learn how to resolve legal disputes that may arise in healthcare services.

Rules

Academic Integrity: Copying, plagiarism, or similar ethical violations are strictly unacceptable; disciplinary action will be taken.
Communication: Students can ask the instructor questions about the course via email or during office hours.
Ethical Behavior: Ethical behavior and patient confidentiality must be observed during lectures and practical work.
