Course Objective

It is aimed to teach the management processes, organizational structures and functioning mechanisms of institutions providing health services. In the course, it is aimed to provide information to develop skills to manage health institutions efficiently and to improve organizational processes. In this context, it is planned to introduce students to management theories and practices in the health sector, to gain effective leadership and management skills, to transfer basic health management concepts such as strategic planning, human resources management, financial management and quality management.

Course Content

Theories and business approaches related to the management, functioning and organisational structures of health institutions will be explained. Management, manager, organisation concepts, managerial roles and skills. Management functions, organisation theories, principles of organisation, management and organisation theories, current management approaches and practices constitute the basic content of the course.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Can explain the basic concepts of management.
  2. Knowing the scope of management functions, can sort.
  3. To be able to associate the historical processes of management theories with the management of health institutions.
  4. In health institutions; have the theoretical knowledge to manage people, projects and groups.
  5. The awareness of taking responsibility for the team they work with and ensuring that everyone is accountable to each other is achieved.
  6. To be able to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the teammates he/she works with and thus reaches the awareness that he/she can contribute to the creation of a dynamic institution that can constantly develop and adapt to innovations.
  7. Apply evidence-based management and decision-making processes.
