Course Objective
The aim of the public health course is to define health problems in the community, to comprehend and relate environmental, hereditary, social and behavioral factors affecting these problems and to relate this information to service delivery in health management.
Course Content
At the end of this course, the student Discusses the basic concepts of the public health branch and defines the concept of health. Explains the concept of primary health care, types of health services, and the aims of institutions providing health services. Interpret the country's public health programs carried out within the scope of primary health care. Explains the conditions for being healthy and improving health. Accesses, understands, evaluates, and uses health information to make decisions and judgments about disease prevention and health promotion. Defines the concept of reproductive health and explains family planning methods. Defines the concepts of mental and social health. Defines maternal and child health problems and programs for their improvement. Defines adolescent and school health problems and defines programs for improvement. Defines the problems of elderly health and defines programs for improving elderly health. Evaluate the situations and important developments that have the potential to affect public health in unusual situations and develop appropriate recommendations. Explain the situations affecting environmental health, evaluate environmental health problems, and develop appropriate recommendations.
