Course Objective
The aim of this course is to introduce the fundamental components of information management systems used in healthcare institutions and to provide students with knowledge about national and international standards as well as legal regulations related to the confidentiality, security, and privacy of health records. Within the scope of the course, it is aimed that students gain an understanding of the technical and legal responsibilities regarding the protection of health information and records, and are able to integrate these principles into healthcare institution practices.
Course Content
Within the scope of this course, the structure and functioning of information management systems in healthcare institutions are examined, and the fundamental concepts related to the confidentiality, security, and privacy of health records are evaluated. In line with national and international standards and legal regulations, technical and legal practices for the protection of health information and records are analyzed, and evaluations are conducted through examples of ethical and legal issues encountered in healthcare institutions.
