Course Objective
The aim of this course; The primary materials used in the building and the building products that have increased and developed in parallel with today's technologies, design and application-oriented features, these products can be recognized and the right choice can be made according to their usage areas. In line with this purpose, learning the structures and properties of building materials from their production to their use; It is aimed to gain the skill of making the right decisions in the selection of materials and using them in the right places.
Course Content
In this course, the internal structures of materials, their behavior against mechanical effects, the effects of heat, water, humidity and sound, fire, sun, microorganisms and corrosion factors on materials will be explained, and the measures that can be taken in places in terms of materials against these effects will be explained with examples. The materials used in the building will be examined separately, and their types, properties and indoor usage areas will be emphasized. The design examples for each material will be shown to the students, and the relationship between the material and the design will be tried to be established visually.
