Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences · Interior Architecture and Environmental Design · Undergraduate
Course Objective
This course emphasizes the aesthetic and functional importance of the form and space in the exhibition and stage design that incorporates various media such as theater, television and cinema. Students will appreciate the importance of the semantic design required by different exhibitions and performance varieties. With field work to be done and attendance to various performances, students will also experience the special scripted effect of factors such as lighting, acoustics and multimedia.
Course Content
In the design process, the interior and exterior spaces should be structured with the formal and visual layout of the entire display space, including the hall and scene and scene space information and arrangement, including scene decor and hall surroundings.
Course Learning Outcomes
- To specify design criteria for hall design (concert, theater, multipurpose hall). To improve interior volume conditioning and design criteria with building physics topics (acoustics, light).
- to design hall and stage design and interior volume arrangement.
- to learn hall building regulations (stage fire insulation and exit, auditorium seating system and exit, entrance and exit in public spaces)
- to have the ability to design and arrange two and three-dimensional stage
- To be able to take and detail the material decisions to be used in building elements, furniture, reinforcement and finishing elements
