Course Objective

 

Definition of relevant concepts, decisions, statutes and laws at national and international level on preservation, understanding and transfer to future generations of cultural heritage - in particular its architectural heritage. Teaching the causes of deterioration of architectural heritage items, conservation and restoration methods and techniques, and new reconstruction principles in traditional wisdom.

Course Content

 

Historical development of conservation philosophy and theoretical basis, conservation measures, classification of architectural values ​​to be preserved, historical environment and reasons of deterioration of constructions. Information on conservation methods in single structure, building groups, city and site scales, area studies and preparatory stage of restoration (necessary documents, projects to be prepared and legal procedure to be followed) are given and examples from conservation practices in our country and around the world are given.

Explanations

 

1. Exam dates are as if they were announced on tablature. The topics of the examinations will be announced before a reasonable time. Compensation examinations will be given for examinations that are not entered in the framework of excuses accepted according to the regulations. 2. The final exam covers subjects that have been processed for the whole semester. The final exam day, time and place will be announced by the Deanery.

Rules

Continuation: According to the regulation, if a student does not attend 30% of the total course hours, dersten absenteeism (DZ) fails.
Late arrivals: The class is expected not only to arrive but to attend classes on time. Remember that 3 lessons will be counted as 1 full absence. Late arrivals are defined as follows: The lecturer will take class polling and attend class after the first 10 minutes of class
Getting help: It is important for your education to ask questions about the class during the lesson or during the meeting hours and to find out what is on the way. We advise our students to get help if necessary.
Academic honesty: It is expected that you will have your own endeavors and your work will be the subject of the course. In non-moral situations, such as plagiarism or copying, you will be subject to disciplinary action and necessary criminal sanctions as required by the relevant regulation of the IZU
The assessments stated in this footing are fixed and no extra compensation measurements will be made for grading purposes.

  1. To be able to comprehend the importance of the documentation studies on historical sites and the techniques to be used.
  2. To be able to have knowledge about the surveying of urban scale
  3. Having ideas and information about the effects of national traditions and historical heritage in national and regional architecture, landscape and urban design, including local architecture.
  4. Material types of a historical monographic structure and damage types seen in the buildings
  5. To evaluate conservation and reuse suggestions in industrial heritage structures and historical environmental scale
