Course Objective
This course includes information about the physical, ergonomic, psychological, economic and social factors affecting the design and the production process, furniture design principles, production, concept and form production, human furniture relation, functionality, structure and detail, alternative materials that make furniture.
Course Content
Recognition of a piece of furniture design; form production, human factor, safety, robustness, harmonic conceptual approach to material and anthropometric giving, classification of furniture, furniture as a landscaping regulator, creation of furniture decoration systems in the context of interior functionality, furniture drawing methods, furniture production methods, detailing for application. Studio studies , development process of furniture design, functioning, form and structure, production techniques.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Recognizes the materials and production techniques necessary for detailed furniture design
- Develop the skill of furniture design by creating a project in accordance with the concept
- Use basic design principles in furniture design process
- The design principles and criteria of the use of furniture for the period are noted.
- Recognizes interior design principles and criteria of period.
