Explanations

There will be weekly quizzes/assignments, a midterm exam and a comprehensive final exam.
The dates of the quizzes will be announced in the previous class and announced on the campus information system, and the content will be the topics of the previous weeks. There is no make-up for the quizzes in any way.
Participation in the course does not mean attendance (attendance). In the courses that will be taught interactively, questions will be asked to the students and individual evaluation will be made based on the answers from the students.
Exam dates are as announced in the table.
Midterm exam topics cover all the topics covered until the exam week. The final exam covers the topics covered throughout the semester. Midterm and Final exam dates, time and place will be announced by the Dean's Office.

Rules

  1. Attendance: It is required to attend %30 of the lectures, otherwise the final grade will be DZ and the student has no right to take a final exam.
  2. Collaboration: It is important to ask questions during lectures when there is something about the lecture that is not clear to you.
  3. Academic Honesty: It is expected to complete all of your studies which are going to affect your grades by yourself. Plagiarism, copy/paste of someone else' studies are prohibited and be treated due to regulation rules of IZU.
  4. Exam Grrading: If it is necessary, oral examination is going to be done once the grading of an exam paper is completed. The result of the oral examination will determine your final grade of the paper.
  5. The evaluations specified in this syllabus are not changable and there will be no extra compensation for grade upgrading.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Binary Number System and Logic gates/tables/functions are learned in detail.
  2. Kmap and reduction of functions using different methods are learned.
  3. Design both combinational and sequential concurrent digital logic circuits.
  4. Register and counter design phases are learned in detail.
  5. Frequently used memory components such as RAM and ROM are designed.
  6. Gain an introductory knowledge of Register Transfer Language (RTL).
  7. Asynchronous sequential circuits are learned.
