Course Objective

The aim of this course is; to provide students with knowledge about non-test techniques that can be used within the scope of psychological counseling and guidance services in the education system and to be able to apply the knowledge gained in their professional life.

Explanations

Midterm exam: It is an exam consisting of multiple choice, short answer or long answer questions related to the topics covered in the course until the midterm exam dates specified in the academic calendar. The midterm exam will constitute 30% of the final score.

Autobiography assignment: It will constitute 10% of the year-end success score.

Final exam: It is an exam consisting of multiple choice, short answer or long answer questions prepared for the topics covered in the whole course. The final exam will constitute 35% of the year-end success score.

File assignment: It will constitute 10% of the year-end success score.

Report assignment: It will constitute 15% of the year-end success score.

Expectations: Students are expected to attend the lesson by reading the article / book chapters of that day, to follow the lesson regularly, to participate actively, to report their psychological counseling practices regularly on a weekly basis. It is forbidden to take care of the mobile phone and eat during the lesson.

File preparation:

In the final exam to be held for the evaluation of the course, students are expected to prepare files from each of the topics covered during the course. By choosing an inventory / application from the main topics in the syllabus, the document indicating that it is implemented will be included in this exam. For example, an application is expected to cover all weeks such as 1 from Observation Based Techniques, 1 from Self-Explanatory Techniques, 1 from Techniques Based on Others' Opinion, etc.

Autobiography assignment

The following items should be taken into consideration while preparing the autobiography assignment. The assignment has no page limitation. However, sufficient and in-depth information is expected for each item. Homework should be prepared through computer Word Office program. Homework report should be prepared according to APA 6 format.

Items:

1. Find a name for the autobiography study.

2. Writing the CV: Name-surname, schools visited, languages ​​spoken, things that you like to do, hobbies…

3. Find a photo from your childhood and briefly promote it.

4. Your loved ones, the ones you don't like.

5. Have a happy and unhappy moment.

6. Tell a place that affects your childhood and share a photo of it.

7. Describe a historical event (earthquake, etc.) experienced through television, radio and newspaper with your personal lives.

8. Describe why a movie or book that you are impacting has affected you.

9. Tell the life story of one of your family.

10. Share the ideas of a relative about your childhood.

11. Share a picture of something important to you with its description.

12. Identify someone who is important to you.

13. Give the recipe of your favorite food.

14. Write the lyrics of your favorite song.

15. Give a summary of your favorite movie or series.

16. The cover of your favorite book.

17. A blank page: Type what you want.

18. You are a diary kept for a week.

19. Something you're witnessing (in) and wanting to protest against.

20. A letter written to your future.

Report homework

Within the scope of this assignment, you are expected to file a report regarding the assignments you have prepared in your file. A separate file is expected to be created for the evaluation of each inventory / application.

Attendance to the Course: Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Undergraduate Education and Training Regulation

Article 21 - (1) Students at the University; Within one semester, they are obliged to attend theoretical courses 70% and applied courses 80%. Each instructor checks the obligation to attend classes according to these principles.

Changes to be made in case of attending the course due to a pandemic will also include this course.
