Course Objective

This course is an introduction to Islamic economics depending on its definition, background and basic issues.

Course Content

In this course, first of all, Islam’s view of the world and especially the economy will be put forth, then the development of Islamic economy will be followed with reference to fiqh, history and economics. In this regard, the method of Islamic economics will be tried to be put forward.

In more practical part of the course, Islamic economic system will be revealed comparatively, and state and market relations will be examined in this context. Fiscal-monetary policies will be examined in relation to production, consumption and distribution, and in particular isuues of zakat and interest will be discussed. Finally, institutions of Islamic economics will be mentioned.
