• To be able to solve questions related to derivatives and integrals, to calculate total costs and marginal profits using production and cost functions;

• To learn the concept of matrices and to be able to solve linear equation systems.

• To be able to produce solutions to real business problems by learning linear programming.

• To be able to make appropriate quantitative analysis using the above topics in academic research.

Course Content

This course focuses on general mathematics for students of Economics (30% English) and Health Management. Topics included in this syllabus such as Percentage Calculations, Graphical Data Analysis, Sequences and Geometric Series, Interest, Annuity, Matrix and Linear Algebra, Economic Applications of Derivatives and Integrals are taught face to face. The theoretical parts of the topics are sufficiently covered, and business and economic applications are clarified with case studies and real problems. With practical applications, students can acquire theoretical and applied mathematical knowledge necessary for academic research, business life, economics and trade.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Can solve financial mathematics problems with the help of derivatives.
  2. Apply the concepts of sequences and geometric sequences to financial mathematics.
  3. With the help of integral, solutions to economic applications can be found.
  4. Recognizes Data Types. Understands and analyzes different types of data graphics.
